Profile:
Tom is a 43 year old carver. He lives beside the Funky Pumpkin in Sydenham with his partner Johanna and his sons Billy and Alex. Tom grew up in Taita, in the Hutt Valley, where he became a Linesman for the Post Office and then a Radio Telephone Installer for Tait Electronics.

He then moved to Christchurch where he became a freezing Worker(and later union delegate) at the PPCS works in Belfast Christchurch. Tom then spent nine years raising his sons as a solo parent and has recently been a Union Organiser for the National Union of Public Employees.

Tom is also a founding member of Health Cuts Hurt wherein he went on hunger strike for 11 days in an attempt to stop the sale of the addiction treatment center Queen Mary Hospital in Hanmer Springs.
